A CHINAMORA woman reportedly threatened her 14-year-old daughter with death while forcing her to engage in sex with her live-in boyfriend for close to two years.
Samuel Masauso Roka, 48, was jointly charged with the mother when they appeared before Harare magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti.
The couple was remanded in custody and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Sabastian Mutizirwa alleged that sometime in January 2014, Roka started living-in with the victim and her mother at Zimbiru Village under Chief Chinamora.
On an unknown date, the court heard that around 8pm, the mother asked her daughter to come to bed as they lived in a one-bedroomed house.
It was alleged that when the victim entered the bedroom, her mother shut and locked doors before retrieving a rubber sjambok and instructed her daughter to strip na_ked and engage in sex with Roka.
The court heard that when the victim resisted, she was thrashed twice on the back with a sjambok by her mother.
She then removed all her clothes out of fear and was ordered by her mum to climb on the bed where Roka was waiting.
Roka then removed his clothes and got on top of the juvenile and raped her once breaking her vi_rginity in the process.
The girl complied and came back to sleep in the room.
The following morning, Roka threatened to kill the girl by poisoning her or throwing her into a well if she divulged the matter.
Roka continued raping the girl in her mother's presence on several occasions during the night.
The complainant was scared and could not tell anyone about the abuse.
It was heard that the sexual abuse ended when Roka's relationship with the girl's mother ended.
In October 2015, the juvenile started staying with her father in Gukwe Village.
The offence came to light on November 6 this year when the victim eventually confided in one of her sisters that she was traumatised about what her stepfather had done to her.
The complainant was assisted to report the matter to the police before being referred to Harare Central Hospital for medical examinations.
