Matabeleland Not benefiting from its resources

Mthwakazi Republic Party  has said Matabeleland is not benefiting from its resources amid concerns that marginalisation was causing conflict between the region's people and other provinces.

"As we go around in communities our people complain that they are not benefiting anything since 1980. For example Mat North is the richest
Province in terms of natural resources yet it is the poorest because of lack of management, corruption, tribalism, selfishness and greediness of
Shona people currently in charge of the country," said the party.

"Therefore we so it fit to defend our space now, and after long deliberations and debate we finally agreed that what we actually lack in
Mthwakazi is Political Power and political power is what we need. We therefore agreed to contest elections at Parliament and Council level to an
able us to protect space. We noticed that the MDC-T have been bringing people from outside this region to be our MPs and Councillors and we
challenged that."

The party said so far the debate has already started and we hopefully believe in 2018 it will be battle of the locals across the political divide.

"Our interest is to protect our political space. Our people complain that Shona people have virtually taken over the local; Jobs, Land, Natural
resources and Universities and collages," said the party.

"In the process pushing us into diaspora and into poverty. They have taken over our Byo and every shop in town now either belong to Indians or people from Harare including vendors. They are coming in large numbers to buy and build houses in Mthwakazi making us to be their tenants. The only solution to all this is to gain political power and be in control of our space. Boycotting elections gives MDC-T and ZANU PF freedom to freely implement their 1979 grand plan without any resistance."

"We want to make things difficult for Harare parties to do as they wish in our space."
