Harare City Council to shutdown Morton Jaffray Water treatment plant on Friday

Harare Residents Trust has announced that the City of Harare has advised all its water customers that there will be a complete shut down of the Morton Jaffray Water Treatment Plant from Friday 17 June at 1700hrs to Monday 20 June at 0800hrs.
"The shutdown is to allow the scheduled installation of more new pumps at the water treatment part under the ongoing rehabilitation programme," reads the statement.
"The shutdowns are meant to improve the efficiency of the water treatment plant which is currently operating below its design capacity.
"Over 70 percent of the work at Morton Jaffray has been done so far.
"Customers are encouraged to store enough water to take them up to Monday."
