Revolutionary greetings comrades. The army is a symbol of security and strength of the nation. In an ideal democracy, it is the honest custodian of the constitution. However, when that army ceases being the protector of the constitution, therein cometh a big problem.

When the army violets the constitution and becomes an active player in politics, the people become exposed. They become exposed to the overt abuse of power by the army. The army becomes the symbol of intimidation and fear. It is transfigured into a ruthless monster that respects no constitution. Rules of the jungle become the new constitution.

Since independence, Zimbabwe has been a military state. The army has actively participated in politics in post-independence Zimbabwe. The soft coup was done by the army for the army. The Zimbabweans celebrated the soft coup thereby legalising it. Today the Zimbabwean streets and highways are strewn with  abusive soldiers who are precipitating upon the civilians unprecedented reign of terror.

The visibility of the army in the streets and highways serves to intimidate the citizens and push away prospective investors. Investors feel intimidated than protected by the presence of the army in the streets. Its presence signifies the death of democracy coupled with the liquidation of the constitution.

Death of democracy and liquidation of the constitution create an unsafe climate for investment. It produces and reproduces unadulterated  lawlessness that is healthy for sound investment.

If Zimbabwe wants to attract a hotch potch of investors, then Mnangagwa must withdraw the army from the streets and consign it back to the barracks where it belongs. He must deal with his police officers with insatiable apetite for money and restore law and order. The police officers must stop stealing from the people and be their protectors.

The indiginisation policy must be revised because it pushes away existing and potential investors. Thus the investment enviroment must be cleared of huddles that discourage investors. Political stability coupled with sound developmental policies create an attractive environment for investors.

I therefore, submit that the army must be off the street because it creates false political instability which scares away potential investors. Investors is what Zimbabwe needs to resascitate the unconcious economy.

Victory is certain, allutta continua.
