DARE Christmas Message
24 Dec 2017 at 16:00hrs | Views
Greetings fellow countrymen and women. We have been wonderfully blessed with the gift of life and thank the almighty on the eve of Christmas celebrations.
The year 2017 has given birth and hope to the people of Zimbabwe as it saw the birth of Peoples Rainbow Coalition (PRC ) in Bulawayo . The unity of purpose which culminated in the signing of the agreement is historical and unprecedented as a harbinger of victory to come in 2018. The year 2017 will go down as a year a train was assembled and set in motion to develop and give a life infusion into Zimbabwe.
As DARE political party we have fought against many internal challenges and overcame. We are aware of the economic hardship which continue to bedevil our membership and promise that only a systematic change will bring real transformation and empowerment .
As you celebrate this Christmas please remember those who can not afford a decent meal, those in political exile, those in hospitals and our prisons. Remember those in the diaspora who can not be with us, not because of their choice but economic and governance conditions which scattered them to all the corners of the world.
We take note of the military coup and intervention which culminated in a political process and forced Robert Mugabe to resign .We thank the generality of people and party members who took part in marching for freedom. We are mindful however that the result was not a united Zimbabwe we wished but turned out to be a militant sharing of spoils.
Zimbabwe can never be free without systematic change. Changing figures or faces without transformation of institutions and governance culture will not materialise into freedom and democracy. This Christmas will once again be bleak but let us share with those who don't have in the promise and faith that 2018 will come with a renewed vigour to fight for national developmental change.
Zimbabweans from all walks of life ,we ask you to sit on the round table of DARE and come aboard the Freedom Train of PRC where ever you are.
The train is inclusive and everyone has a role to play in getting to the promised governance we aspire and desire. Let me take this opportunity to wish you a happy and merry Christmas holiday.
