MDC statement on Misihairabwi - Mushonga fiasco
30 May 2013 at 05:12hrs | Views
The MDC would like to dismiss as unfounded and false media reports that we are mulling the dismissal of our Secretary General, Priscilla Misihairabwi - Mushonga as false and desperate constructions of the usual purveyors of lies and scandal.
This is another futile, desperately shallow attempt at sowing discord and despondency within our party.
Our belief and confidence in the Secretary General's competence and fairness as well as her bottomless humility is absolute.
We would like to state unequivocally that we have never been more united as a party as we are now and we believe that our consistency in our ideologies will pay off in the upcoming elections.
Our dedication to a devolved, free and just Zimbabwe is total.
We will not be distracted by petty and illfounded attempts to discredit us especially by those to whom the truth is a former language.
All we can say is that these reports of a purported split are an undiluted infantile attempt to slander our party leadership by the idle minds of those that have too much time on their hands and little to do with it.
We would like to advise the purveyors of these rumors to rather direct their energies towards rebuilding their own party which is fast falling apart in humpty dumpty style.
We would like to reiterate that the MDC is not in any kind of turmoil. The said turmoil is just in the mind of our detractors. The MDC is geared up for the upcoming elections and we are not going to lose our focus because of these desperate attempts to derail us from our agenda. Our detractors would be better advised to learn to fight a fight that is fair.
