KIGALI, Rwanda - An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Mr. Paulo Drummond visited Kigali during June 17-21.
The mission met with Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Amb. Claver Gatete, National Bank of Rwanda Governor Hon. John Rwangombwa and other senior officials, as well as business representatives and development partners.
Discussions focused on the implementation of previous IMF technical assistance recommendations in the areas of tax policy and revenue administration to help the authorities develop their medium-term revenue mobilization strategy.
The strategy will be part of the authorities' economic program that could be supported under a new three-year Policy Support Instrument to be discussed by a follow-up IMF mission during the second half of 2013.
