What a day, what an event, a day full of fun, laughter and exuberance. Bambanani Association is a self-help community organisation based in Hastings in East Sussex and its core objects are socialisation, health, bereavement and education.
Today the event was organised by the Socialisation Committee comprised of Mrs Nomalanga Siziba, Mrs Blessing Sibanda, Ms Charity Sibanda and Ms Thembi Nkala. A great and many thanks to the super committee.
When Bamabanani Association started its business early this year it aimed to eliminate isolation, idleness and boredom, the factors which have a huge contribution towards people's emotional and psychological states.
Bambanani Association conducting its needs audit and assessment in the community it found that its members were isolated and many suffering mental health problems alone without any visible and tangible community support.
Today it was the trip out for the Association since its launch, which was last month on the 31st July 2013.
Children and adults enjoyed taking a long walk in the woods at Abbots Wood forest. After taxing and invigorating walks, the whole group converged at a spot and shared some delicious home prepared picnic food.
Children had a great day out, enjoyed playing football and on the swings.
The enthusiasm and optimism permeated the place, the camaraderie and companionship was great and amazing. Like any other event, lessons for future greater and better excursion were learnt.
