ZANU PF SA DISTRICT'S CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO THE AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS (ANC), THE MANDELA FAMILY, AND SOUTH AFRICANS IN GENERAL ON THE DEATH OF PRESIDENT NELSON ROLIHLAHLA 'MADIBA' MANDELA
ZANU PF SA DISTRICT has learnt with great distress and profound sadness on the death of one of Africa's greatest son and leader, President Nelson Rolihlahla "Madiba" Mandela.
His departure is a great loss and sad moment of grief for the African National Congress (ANC), the Mandela family, South Africans, and indeed people of the world. His death is a loss not only to South Africa, but to all who have walked long walks to freedom and made huge sacrifices in freeing their countries and people from yokes of imperialism, colonialism and apartheid.
President Nelson Mandela, was a symbol of struggle against colonial injustices and he gave courage and hope to people to work hard for freedom, development and progress towards the eradication of hunger, disease, and poverty. He fought to build a democratic, non-racial, non-sexist, equal and prosperous country in which resources are distributed equitably. He fought for a South Africa that could be home to all people of the world, a rainbow nation.
As we mourn a man who gave it all to liberate his people, ZANU PF SA urges our fellow liberation movement the African National Congress, the Mandela family and all people of the world not to lose sight of the legacy that Nelson Madiba Mandela has left for us. It was his desire in dismantling the system of apartheid, to see a just South Africa free of corruption, hatred, racialism, hunger and poverty and to see the generality of South Africans, in their diversity, participating in the mainstream economy. This is the fundamental challenge that President Nelson Mandela leaves for us to vigorously pursue.
Let the ANC family, South Africans and the world over, continue to be inspired each day by Nelson Mandela's lifelong selfless struggle for human dignity and freedom and the call for a better South Africa for all.
ZANU PF SA conveys heartfelt condolences to the Mandela family, his wife Graca Machel, President of South Africa and the African National Congress, President Jacob Zuma, the African National Congress and the rest of the South Africans. May Madiba's soul rest in eternal peace.
