In a well attended general meeting held at the ZANU-PF SA District offices in  Johannesburg, South Africa, ZANU PF members applauded the ZANU PF government in coming up with an economic blue print called the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim Asset), which seek to guide national development in the country for the next five years. The members pledged their full support on the effort that the government is putting in turning round the fortunes of the country amidst stiff resistance and underhand dealings being perpetrate by the unrepentant bad losers MDC.

The members were given a full report on the 2013 ZANU PF National Conference which took place in Chinhoyi in December last year, by the ZANU PF SA  District delegation which attended the conference. The report dwelt on the renewed vigour and resolve that the party has now, to assert itself in the development of the country underpinned by the mandate that ZANU PF got from the people after the landslide victory in the harmonised elections held last year.

Members present pledged to explore means and ways of getting involved in supporting government initiatives. They felt that gone are the days when people should continue to expect everything from the government without involving themselves in the full exploitation and value addition to the country's abundant natural resources. The cliche "Zim Asset, Iwe neni tine basa, Mina lawe silomsebenzi", encouraged people to look back at what they have been doing for the party and government.

Members present bemoaned the "Salarygate" scandals being unearthed in the country and urged the leadership to urgently attend to the scourge. They felt that if these scandals are not resolved decisively they might derail the efforts of the government in turning around the economy, as encapsulated in the Zim Asset policy document.

There is also fear that corruption may erode public confidence which the party got from the electorate and give the opposition a window to criticise the government using their usual mouthpieces.

As per norm now, the general meeting was graced by new members who had defected from the opposition parties upon realising that out there, there is no life other than joining the people's party ZANU PF. The commissar of the ZANU PF SA introduced and welcomed the new members before encouraging them to work for the party and learn its policies.

ZANU PF SA is now on the roll and you only need to watch this space for more.
