MDC-T Mashonaland West Chairperson Karemba dies

The MDC-T has learnt with shock and sadness of the death of its Mashonaland West Provincial Chairperson, Mr Jephat Karemba yesterday.
He was 63.
Mr Karemba was admitted at Karanda Mission hospital yesterday morning and an operation for prostate cancer conducted but, sadly he passed on around midnight.
Mourners are gathered at Farm no. 57, Chitomborwizi in Makonde district.
The MDC-T has lost a dedicated cadre who has stood by the party since its formation. Mr Karemba was elected the Mashonaland West Information and Publicity Secretary in 1999, before he was elevated to the post of Provincial Chairperson in 2006. He was re elected as the Chairperson at the 2011 Congress, a position he held till the time of his death.
A war veteran and ex-detainee during the war of liberation, Mr Karemba turned to farming tobacco and maize in 1989 to date. Mr Karemba, a uniting force and fearless leader has stood by the principles of democracy, encouraging unity and togetherness in his province and ensuring that the Party remains intact in the largely volatile Mashonaland West Province.
He is survived by his wife, Namatayi, five children and nine grandchildren. He will be buried on Sunday at his farm and the national party leadership will attend.
