ZANU PF SA wishes to congratulate Kudzai Chipanga and the entire new national youth leadership on their election to lead the youth of Zimbabwe. The mandate given to them is to lead the youths for the development and prosperity of the party and country. The youth expect them to be the voice of reason, in defending our heritage for posterity.
The elected youth leaders should now assume the roles for which they have been chosen, which is to lead and represent the youth with integrity, dignity and vibrancy. The youth are the leaders of tomorrow and need to learn from people whose leadership has been astute and principled. They should be the loudest voices against the ills and vices bedevilling the society today. Youth should be pragmatic in approach and shun idealism in favour of realism. The challenges ahead require the youth to see what they have in their hands and defend it wholeheartedly, condemning the donor syndrome.
Corruption, bribery, factionalism and nepotism should have no room in the youth league. The events which almost marred the conference should be condemned with the contempt it deserves. The youth should be exemplary and should be ready to defend the party from those among us who would want to destroy the party from within. Youths should not accept to run other peoples' agenda negating those of the constituency they represent, which is the youth of Zimbabwe.
The Diaspora constituency is readily available to work with the youth executive. Hon. Chipanga and executive should know that South Africa and the United Kingdom has a constituency which has youths supportive to youth initiatives in and outside the country. They need your consideration as you lead them because they too are Zimbabweans willing and looking forward to making positive contributions to the political, economic and social development of Zimbabwe..
As ZANU PF SA congratulate you, we need to remind Hon. Kudzai Chipanga (MP) and his entire executive, that ZANU PF is bigger than individuals, and individuals as a collective belong to the party. Zimbabwe did not come on a silver platter. It took the blood and limbs of many people, men and women, boys and girls, to be who we are. This was never in vain. Yours as a youth executive is to preserve our hard won independence and sovereignty for posterity. All you need to do is represent the interests of the youth with integrity and dignity.
