MDC-T President Tsvangirai speaks

The MDC-T in South Africa has embarked on an extensive "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year "wishes program. The provincial Organizing secretary Mr. Trust Ndlovu has launched this program in all the eight MDC T political districts in South Africa with the rollout being handled by the respective organizing secretaries. The program comes with a message of love from President Tsvangirai and a Road safety awareness drive.
The MDC-T Pretoria district team visited the ghetto of Soshanguve where they met hundreds of fellow Zimbabweans where the team leader, district organizing secretary Leader Precious Mutete turned into an instant celebrity. "President Tsvangirai loves you, Compliments of the festive season, don't drink and drive! " Echoed Sis Pre as she was fondly addressed thought her pilgrimage in the hood where Zimbabweans yearned to ever see a political leader being with them. Several people gave themselves to serving under the banner of the MDC-T till the goal of a new Zimbabwe is achieved. Youth Chairman Pound Tambo recorded a recruitment count of one hundred and forty three at last head count. People received autographed cards, flowers and gifts in celebration of the festive season.
Johannesburg District had a door to door around the city in tandem with the spirit of love during the festive period. Pamphlets with road awareness messages were distributed to motorists with messages of love and warnings in a bid to prevent road carnage as people prepare to go for holidays. The program ended in the evening with a prayer for the victims of police brutality in Zimbabwe. A special prayer was made for the tortured Job Sikhala and the politically prosecuted, Douglas Mwonzora, Secretary general of Zimbabwe's largest and most popular political outfit. Organiser Bongani Mathe, Chairlady Rita Chavalala and Youth Chair Emmanuel Banda gave a moving tribute to Job Sikhala and saluted the sterling work being done by the newly elected national leadership.
In KwaZulu Natal dozens of people gathered in the city centre with flowers and hand made cards scribbled with messages of love all over. Chairlady Lovejoy Natalie Tembo exceeded the norm when she gave a powerful message of love over the festive period. Chairman Patrick Mubaiwa saluted the Zimbabwean community on behalf of president Tsvangirai for supporting their families in Zimbabwe during these trying times. Provincial Youth Treasurer General, Joel Marere, Women Organiser Mary Chibanda among other leaders distributed food parcels to identified orphans and other known charity cases.
In Mpumalanga the MDC-T leadership had massive motor vehicle processions with loud music in a celebratory mood. From the hailers came the message of peace, love and harmony between the expatriate Zimbabwe community and the host South African citizenry. Chairman Munyaradzi Chidarikire delivered the key note address at Secunda and Organiser Ernest Chinyuke thanked all the comrades and the Zimbabwean nationals who heeded to this call to peace.
A carnival compare, was witnessed in the North West suburb of Heibron. Struggle veteran Joshua "Mambo" Rusere joined Chairman Shingirai Mangena going to all centres where Zimbabweans gather delivering food parcels, flowers and messages of love. The entire district leadership read from the same script as they ventured into the pages of a new Zimbabwe which is yet to come. Organizer Bellarms Chisango kept the crowds in high spirits with his timely punctuation of the festivity with his oriental jokes.
Led by Chairman Enoch Tapudzi and Provincial Deputy Chairman Stanley Mutambiranwa, the Freestate District programs stretched from Bloemfontein ending in Bethlehem. Veteran struggle icon Charles Matorera could not hide his excitement when the whole locale was at a standstill because of the massive crowds. To seal the events of the day, the Zimbabwe Select team played a soccer match against a Lesotho Invitational side whom they thrashed by three goals to nil.
The windy city was a hive of activity as the local ANC joined the MDC leadership in their love-gospel mission. Chairman Chimombe, Youth Chair Mtondo and Women's assembly Chair Madam Chelsea delivered President Tsvangirai's message of love. The Chairlady narrated the sacrifices of women in the democratic struggle and encouraged the unity of the family. Youth assembly Secretary general Oscar Madanhi provided flowers which were distributed whilst Chris Manjonjo provided refreshments to the jovial crowds.
Asked for comment as to how he sees the future of the party judging by the day's events, former Provincial organiser Samuel "Mapoka" Mavhunga could not say much though beaming with joy. "Our movement is on the right trajectory, the message from President Tsvangirai is a message of the time and very relevant. Family cohesion, road accidents and love. Thank you President Tsvangirai."
