Mdc Press Statement
Mdc Is Not a Regional Party
Response to a New-Zimbabwe[dot]Com Article "Ncube ,Leads a Regional Party- Tsvangirai"
MDC-N wishes to dismiss the contemptuous statement by Morgan Tsvangirai that we are a regional party. While we are aware that Morgan Tsvangirai's contempt of the Ndebele people exists in his political genes we find his statement provocative and tribalistic as it insinuate that any institution that is led by a Ndebele person is regional and not national.
While we are made to believe that Morgan Tsvangirai left Zanu Pf it is however curious that his statement continue to reflect the tribalism and regionalism that is abundant within that party. With such statements the Zimbabweans are reminded of the dark moments of our past where the Matabeleland people were massacred for supporting a party led by Ndebele. His statements are a confirmation that Morgan Tsvangirai is Zanu PF to the heart and only preach change for thirty-pieces of silver and still finds it pleasing to denigrate the Ndebele people as he did while still in Zanu PF.
We are not amazed by such statements especially now that Morgan Tsvangirai is working in hand and glove with his mentor to deprive MDC President Welshman Ncube of his constitutional position of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister. It is now a public secret that all the people that had pronounced death to our party are now on the panic mode, hauling all these insults against us hoping to derail our quest for a just and a fair Zimbabwe, however we wish to reaffirm that we remain committed to the revolutionary cause. We are not only regaining ground in Matabeleland but the whole country as the evidence on the ground speaks for itself.
We would like to put it on record that as a party, we prepared to go to an election on a fair and a free environment against any party even those that are still basking in the past glory and embarrass them. We are not shopping for any alliances built on imagined big brother attitudes, we are confident that we will not only defeat Zanu PF but even the pseudo democrats in our midst, protégés of this dictatorship. A just and a fair Zimbabwe is certain.
