Firebrand Youth Statement on the occasion of uninspiring and wasteful President Mugabe's birthday party.

The Firebrand Youth Wing of the Zimbabwe's Independent Democrats (ZIM-ID) is fully aware of an extremely ordinary day on the 21st February 2015, which some in the country want to make the world believe it is a special event in the national calendar of Zimbabwe.

We as ZIM-ID Firebrand Youth can indeed confirm that ahead of us and the nation of Zimbabwe is very ordinary day(s) which will rise from the east and set in the west as always but leaving the majority of us as Zimbabweans worse-off than we were. We absolutely have no other special words whatsoever we could prepare associated with was is reportedly a birthdate of President Mugabe. Not that we do not know what to say on such special occasions should it be true he indeed has a birthday sometime in this month, but such will be a case in point where words are just too empty and not from the heart of the people.

To us, we are only deeply concerned by the fact this time of the year has been yet another opportunity for the misgoverning party and its political Ben-10s to publicly abuse very scarce state resources on a private non-event reportedly scheduled for the 28th February 2015.

There is no amount of propaganda that can convince the whole nation there is something for the country to celebrate in the so called "21st Movement", but only ben-10s including political ones are overjoyed by such a forthcoming meaningless and uninspiring occasion. It is a known fact the bait to seduce any "Ben-10s" is by splurging excessively on luxury items hence we are currently at an expenditure of over USD 1 million of undoubtedly taxpayers' money or public funds.

In the bigger scheme of things, "stealing from the future" are the appropriate words for describing such a gathering held at a public expense. There is no normal aspiring "future leader" who can be really impressed by such excessiveness in a sea of poverty. Should there be any so-called "leaders of tomorrow" who are planning to attend such a gathering, may they be advised such a disgusting mere appearance will haunt them for almost another century to come should they live that longer too. Ironically, even if from the inner circus there were any with leadership qualities there will be nothing left for them to "steal" in that future anymore.

As firebrand youth we have since awakened from such a deep sleep of many years, hence we are ready to take the country back to the real future. A sad reminder is that the country's tomorrow was yesterday, and the future is here and now. Just imagine that 35years along the timeline even a future of the 1980 babies still has not arrived. Zimbabwe itself is no longer youthful at almost exactly 35 years by African and International Conventions.

History must not repeat itself with such non-events again, that is the only lesson we have to learn from "Sometimes in February" series. Our doom in the future will be when our history teaches us that our history has taught us nothing. We shall REBRAND Zimbabwe, and give the people of our country something of significant value to celebrate! Salute to all our leaders, cadres, firebrands and foot-soldiers.

This official statement has been issued by Fbr. Mthokozisi Ndiweni as the Firebrand-in-Chief of the ZIM-ID Firebrand Youth. We can be contacted at info@zim-id.org or zim.id263@gmail.com .
