Dear Sir/Madam
RE: NOTICE TO EMBARK ON A PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION ON THE 5TH OF MARCH AGAINST UNCONTROLLED BANK CLOSURES
We are a registered Trade Union representing employees in the Banking and Finance Sectors. Many banks have closed resulting in loss of employment of our members as well as loss of depositors' funds. We intend to petition the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) and the Parliament of Zimbabwe to analyse the cause of this problem and to come up with policies and laws that will prevent future occurrences.
In terms of section 59 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe we wish to demonstrate against errant bank Shareholders and to handover petitions to the RBZ governor and Speaker of Parliament. We therefore notify the Police of our intention to do so on the 5th of March 2015.
We will gather and handover a petition to the Governor of Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe at 1300hrs shortly before we proceed in a procession to handover another petition to the Speaker of Parliament..
The procession will move from RBZ into First Street then turn into Nelson Mandela and then straight to the Parliament. The estimated total time that the arranged march will take is from 1300hrs to 1430hrs. The members who will be participating in the procession will be singing and holding placards.
We thank you in advance for your support in this regard.
Yours sincerely
