ZUPA acknowledges the expressed intention of ZINASU president Gilbert Mutubuki to retaliate against xenophobic violence in South Africa. We simply cannot take no more. The Zimbabwe Unemployed People's Association (ZUPA) which represents the interests of millions of economically disadvantaged people is saddened and shocked to hear of the Killing Our People in South Africa. We can only describe what is happening to our people and other Africans as Genocide, Murder, Criminal Negligence or Passive Indifference by the South African Government.
The senseless deaths of our people doesn't just hurt our feelings as Zimbabweans but outrageous and unafrican. But to truly understand Zimbabwean outrage and sadness South Africa and its people must be fought and hit really hard within their own country. We cannot allow South Africa to sit back and watch our people die needless deaths while we struggle to heal our families and communities. The state propaganda is being used to blame our people for this misery, or is deflecting media attention by vilifying our people and other African immigrants. The endurance, tolerance, and resiliency of our people has now been stretched beyond human limits, we simply cannot take no more.
I have, myself and others, full confidence that if all the youth do their duty, rise up and fight, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made across the globe, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our people, to ride out the storm of Xenophobia, and to outlive this menace of shame, if necessary for years. This menace must stop forthwith.
The youth and other Africans, linked together in this cause and in our need, we must defend to the death our natives, our relatives aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of our strength. At any rate, that is what we must do, we are going to try to do if this does not end. Even though a large number of our people both young and old have fallen we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in South Africa, and we shall fight in their townships, villages and farms. We must defend our brothers and sisters whatever the cost may be. We must fight in their fields and in their streets should this menace fail to stop.
