DARE Statement On Heroes Day

Once again we celebrate the selfless sacrifice of Zimbabweans  who left different occupations and chose to fight colonialism and injustice.Today we remember that gallant and brave daughter who decided that enough was enough and trekked  outside the country to fight  colonialism.

The fight for freedom and republicanism could not have been won without the support of povho, the church and business.Today all these people and our neighbours are heroes we should celebrate.Indeed we should celebrate Zambia,Mozambique ,Tanzania and all countries who aided our fight for independence. We must never forget their sacrifice  ,welcome and benovelence which even led to hardships on their own people.

Indeed we are free at a price. Those who are not with us are our heroes in every way be it ambuya Chimusoro who cooked and offered food to fighters,Sekuru Nhari who worked the fields to feed guerrillas ,Sister Chenzira who indeed carried food and information as well as brother Taurai who relayed information from one point to another. No one indeed deserves much credit than  the other.

We are deeply indebted to these men and women who scatter Zimbabwe as most are unsung heroes of the liberation  struggle and will forever be cherished. We are however aware of those who have always maintained that they themselves are entitled to the freedom we enjoy today. We remind them that it was people power which brought victory from the bush to the ballot. It baffles the mind that gunholders claim to be the  stockholders of our independence and not the common people.

Indeed every Zimbabwean should feel proud of our struggle ,but that can never be an excuse for looting, corruption, nepotism, despotism and mafia oligachy fiefdoms.

We have reached a critical moment where all sectors of people are clamouring for change and new ideas.

It is time to move on generationally and  consolidate the sacrifice of our heroes. We surely must never contain their aspirations but expand on their values and principles through a vision for a Zimbabwe we want.

We applaud war veterans who have decided to side with the masses against gluttony, greed ,power mongering and dictactorship. We are boldened by a demand to revert back to progressive Gutsaruzhinji and not individualistic  looting of resouces from archaic pseudo democratic warped mentality of the present regime.

It is time to remind Mugabe and Zanu Pf where power belongs.

It is prudent and pragmatic that we support todays citizen in Tajamuka ,This Flag and Our Zimbabwe campaigns.

Today is a harbinger of a new Zimbabwe and we should be strong in front of a deceitfull and dangerous generation in Zanu Pf which will cling to power at all cost.

DARE calls on every Zimbabwean to join us in our civil disobedience action against Zanu Pf .We call upon genuine police ,army and security service man and women to remain proffessional and walk with the people. They should be prepared to defend citizens in pursuit of restoring  Zimbabwe .We further call on all partisan appointees into security services to respect the constitution and freedoms or resign immediatly. We can not be threatened nor pummeled into abdicating our will to have justice and transformation in Zimbabwe.

We are  an independent republic where freedom and justice are supreme requirements .In that light we wish to implore all opposition parties to join the Coalition Of Democrats (CODE) and shape the future of a Zimbabwe we want.Indeed the spirit of Zimbabwe lives within us.
