Victoria Falls police threaten Minister with arrest, long detention

POLICE in Victoria Falls have issued a veiled threat to arrest and detain National Healing minister Mozes Mzila Ndlovu for allegedly addressing an illegal political gathering and insulting President Robert Mugabe.

Mzila Ndlovu belongs to the MDC formation led by Professor Welshman Ncube and was last year hauled before the court over similar charges after addressing a meeting on the thorny issue of Gukurahundi.

The new case, a source said, comes after a local youth non governmental organization invited the vocal minister to an "unsanctioned meeting" in terms of the draconian Public Order and Security Act.
