Zanu-PF activist disrupts, stops MDC-T meeting

MDC-T meeting in Chiwurura village Mashonaland Central-Muzarabani South Ward 21 was disrupted by Zanu PF activist who claimed the meeting was not sanctioned.
This was reported by the human rights watch dog Heal Zimbabwe Trust.
"Security Govamombe, a ZANU PF activist disrupted and stopped an MDC T meeting that took place recently in Chawurura village in St Alberts Mission ward 21. Govamombe claimed that the meeting was not sanctioned by the police hence people should disperse," said the trust.
"He ordered the MDC supporters to go for questioning at the police camp and declared Muzarabani a one- party district. He further indicated that no opposition party is allowed to hold any meeting in the area. MDC officials who were contacted by HZT indicated that the meeting was an internal one and there was no need for them to seek clearance from the police."
The trust said in Musakanya village, Zanu PF Youth Chairperson, Mubaiwa Mukondo forced people to attend a Zanu PF meeting held at AFM church in Musakanya village in Muzarabani ward 10.
"Musakanya threatened community members with evictions if they fail to attend the meeting. The community members were left with no choice but attend the meeting. Ward 10- Forced participation in political gathering. Zanu PF youth, Club Tafarawo and Never Chibveti forced people to attend a Zanu PF meeting that took place at Village head Vherera's homestead. They threatened community members with a repeat of the 2008 political violence if they refuse to attend the meeting," said the trust.
