Man bashes, stabs neighbour who once beat him up a long time ago

A man from Fort Rixon in Matabeleland South is in trouble after he attacked his neighbour with wooden stick and stabbed him accusing him of having beaten him long back ago.
This was heard by the Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove when Collet Tshuma (40) appeared before her charged with assault.
The matter was remanded to August 24 and he is out of custody.
The court heard that Tshuma assaulted Melusi Khanye (27) on May 29 last year. It is alleged that the complainant and the accused were at Collet Tshuma's home enjoying a family party.
Khanye approached Mlungisi Phiri who is the friend to Tshuma who was with another accused still at large and asked him why he once assaulted him (Khanye) long back.
A quarrel ensued and Tshuma intervened before assaulting Khanye once on the upper side of the left eye with a wooden stick and stabbing him once at the back with an Okapi knife.
Khanye fled the scene for his life but sustained a laceration and a cut due to the assault.
