Mthwakazi Republic Party has said the recently murdered Fox farm woman Elitha Ncube was finally laid to Rest at Luveve Cemetery in Bulawayo, on Wednesday.
The party said it was an emotional send off, that was attended by the MRP President, Mqondisi Moyo in the company of Bulawayo provincial leaders Henry Dube and Mloyiswa Maphosa and information and publicity secretary for Mat South, Mcebisi Dube.
MRP president assisted the mourners by paying for the bus which transported them from Fox Farm to Luveve Cemetery and back. Moyo is coincidentally, the aspiring member of parliament for Matobo North in which Fox Farm falls.
The deceased had been axed to death while sleeping at her rural home with her two nieces who were also stabbed and badly injured. They are currently recuperating in hospital.
One of the suspects in the murder of Elitha Ncube, was allegedly found hanging from a tree, in a suspected suicide. The mourners confirmed the incident, though the matter was being handled by the police.
The police had earlier disappointed the villagers of Fox Farm, when by the time they were supposed to go and remove the body, they told the villagers that they did not have vehicles and fuel to do so.
One wonders what would have happened to this serious crime scene, had one of the villagers not driven from Bulawayo to pick the coffin and policeman from Matobo Police Station. Even the head office in Plumtree told the villagers that they could not help them. If such a gruesome murder could not be a priority case for the police, then non will ever be.
Surprisingly, two months back, the police had all the vehicles coming to Fox Farm to arrest the villagers from their land, but give excuses when called to serve and protect the villagers.
