Vice President Kembo Mohadi has waded into the foiled coronation of the Ndebele King saga describing the intended move as divisive and unconstitutional saying Zimbabwe does not need to go back to the era of monarchs.

Mohadi, who is in charge of the national peace and reconciliation portfolio, made the remarks in relation to the contentious issue following a declaration by a Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Martin Makonese that the intended coronation of a Ndebele King was illegal.

The ruling resulted in the blocking of the planned swearing in of Mr Bulelani Collin Lobengula Khumalo to the crown on an event that was slated for the 3rd of this month.

Addressing delegates who gathered for a fundraising dinner in celebrating his elevation to the Office of Vice President in Bulawayo yesterday, Mohadi said those who wanted to push for such positions should have done so during the constitution making process stressing that the new establishment's trajectory is to see people of Zimbabwe united in rebuilding the country.

Mohadi, who himself donated $10 000 during the fundraising dinner commended the business community for coming up with the initiative saying the country's development agenda can only be achieved if locals make the necessary initiatives to boost development.

All the proceeds from the fundraising dinner and the soccer match that was organised also to honour Mohadi's ascendancy to the vice president's office will be channelled towards boosting the operations of Mpilo Central Hospital's cancer unit which has been facing a number of challenges from consumables to broken down machinery over the years.
