Mthwakazi activist Hloniphani Ncube has said the MDC-T will this time lose elections in Matabeleland because of the manner they treated party deputy president Thokozani Khupe.
Khupe has imposed her self as acting President of the party while the national council has since endorsed Nelson Chamisa as President.
"The stronghold of MDC T judging from the previous elections has been Matabeleland because the party was believed as an organisation that will usher a change in Matabeleland both systematically, politically, constitutionally and economically, unfortunately the system of the party is just like ZANU PF, which qualifies it to be an extension of it," he said.
"Now that the party has shown it's true colours by continuously getting rid of Ndebeles since 2005 up to date of late being the group of Dr. T. Khuphe and others this has angered the people of Mthwakazi because tribalism has been exposed."
"Denying Khupe to succeed Morgan Tsvangirai or the least to act and call for a conference is clearly indicating that no Ndebele must be allowed to lead any political party in Zimbabwe. The truth of the matter is that just like Welshman Ncube, Khupe's group would be labelled a regional party by Shonas even if they field candidates nationally in Zimbabwe," he said.
He said Chamisa closed a door for himself by coming with the back door a system that we are fighting against.
"Constitutionally, he is not supposed to lead, but tribally and in the name of the so-called majority rule he is leading. That on its own have automatically led to his downfall in a region that wants to pull out of Zimbabwe. So the ground now favours a Matebeleland party," he said.
