Former MDC legislator for Bulilima East Norman Mpofu has said tribal politics perpetuated by politicians from Mashonaland seem to be continuing to sideline top and influential politicians from Matabeleland back dating to the time of the late Vice President Joshua Nkomo who was dribbled by Robert Mugabe at independence.

"Father Zimbabwe Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo toiled for the independence of this country only to be overtaken and sidelined at independence eve.

"Then Gibson ka Jama Sibanda led the workers of this country to dizzy heights and when the situation was conducive for a political party to formed again history repeated itself the super tribe in the form of Morgan came from the blind side and grabbed the presidency of the party.
"The minority tribes again stood by and allowed evil to prevail," Mpofu said.
"History is repeating itself. Morgan new he was terminally ill he ganged and schemed with his tribesmen to sideline Thokozani Khupe who was poised to take over the reigns of the party. Gross violation of the party constitution."
