Mthwakazi Republic Party campaign team descended in Plumtree on Friday to address a rally which was reportedly well attended.
"The people's party held a very successful road show around the town of Plumtree. The team was led by the party's president Mqondisi Moyo and other NEC members that included the secretary general Cde Ackim Mhlanga, treasurer, Cde Brighton Sibanda and Cde Njabulo Ngwenya, the foreign Affairs Secretary and some prospective MRP parliamentary candidates," MRP said.
"Notable, was also the presence of the local business people, led by Sakho."
The party said the people of Plumtree received Mthwakazi Republic Party with overwhelming enthusiasm.
"The party managed to recruit a lot of new membership. The message of restoration resonated with the people of Plumtree as they lamented on the unfair system of oppressing the people of Mthwakazi. The Plumtree border post was mainly used as reference to the unfair employment system and looting of financial resources to the central government in Harare, while Plumtree is deprived of development from its resources," said MRP information department.
"We give our humble appreciation to the MRP campaign team and all those who availed their vehicles and finances towards the smooth running of the Roadshow. Our hats off to our SA province for their unwavering support. We further appreciate the professionalism of the Plumtree police, who managed our event with dignity. We continue to recognise this constant professional conduct from the Matabeleland South Police."
"We continue encouraging the unity of purpose in our membership and Mthwakazi communities."
