Seven die in Botswana bound bus accident

Seven people died and 44 injured when a Botswana bound bus overturned in Mbembesi, Matabeleland North on Thusday night.
The Botswana registered Leywood bus that was coming from Harare overturned when the driver lost control while trying to overtake two buses headed towards Bulawayo.
Matabeleand North police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese said the driver lost control and the bus veered off the road and overturned.
She said six people were confirmed dead on the spot by a police doctor while the other died at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
"Of the deceased, five were male while two were female. The other 44 passengers suffered various degrees of injury and were taken to UBH," she said.
"The driver lost control trying to overtake two other buses going the same direction. (He bus overturned a number of times and landed on its side."
She said the bus was a write off after the wreckage. Ends
