The three main political parties representatives in Midlands Province yesterday held a joint clean-up campaign organised by the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee (Jomic) in Gweru.
The campaign led by the provincial Jomic leaders witnessed youths from Zanu-PF, MDC-T and MDC jointly cleaning the streets while wearing their party regalia and chanting unity songs.
Zanu-PF Midlands South political commissar Christopher Mabhiza, who was standing in for the partys provincial Jomic co-chair Francis Chikwira, said the exercise was meant to promote co-existence among the youths.
Having different political views does not mean we are enemies, said Mabhiza.
MDC-T Midlands South provincial chairperson Lilian Acropol said the three parties had held four joint peace meetings since last month.
MDC's Mdumo Moyo said there were plans to form a provincial Jomic football team featuring the three political parties.
