Man (69) jailed for fondling and sucking 12 year old's breasts

A 69 year old Lupane man was last week sentenced to 15 months in prison for fondling and sucking a 12 year old girl's breasts.
Lazarus Ndlovu from Gudubhu village pleaded not guilty to the charges of indecent assault but was convicted by Lupane resident magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba.
The magistrate said he was alarmed by the rise in cases of sexual abuse of minors by elders in the area.
"Your defence submissions lack any substance and the court finds no reason why the girl would cook up a story against you," said Gwazemba.
According to the state case, sometime between December last year and January this year , the girl's grade five teacher noticed that she was coming to school late, something that was out of her character.
Upon interrogation, the girl told her teacher that she had resorted to using a longer route to school to avoid Ndlovu who would regularly stop and abuse her. A report was made to the police leading to Ndlovu's arrest.
