Waiter dies in upmarket hotel toilet while relieving himself

A waiter from one of Zimbabwe's few remaining five star hotels, Victoria Falls Hotel reportedly collapsed and died while relieving himself at the hotel's toilet.

Matabeleland North police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese identified the deceased as 48 year old Raphall Kanjiwa from Mfelandawonye township in the resort town.

"The incident occurred on Monday night around 11pm. The deceased was last seen going to relieve himself and was later discovered dead in the toilet," said Makonese.

"A report was made to the police and the body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for postmortem."
