A Beitbridge man was stripped naked and robbed in broad daylight by three men at knife point.
The officer commanding police in Beitbridge District, Chief Superintendent Lawrence Chinhengo, said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 9.45am at a bushy area near Dulibadzimu Clinic.
"The complainant was mugged while on his way to a bushy area where he intended to seek the services of a prophet.
He was confronted by three suspects and one of them pulled out a knife and ordered him to remove his pair of trousers before robbing him of his cellphone," he said.
Soon after committing the offence, the suspects fled from the scene leaving the complainant naked.
The man went back to his home to dress up before he proceeded to the police station where he reported the matter.
Chief Supt Chinhengo said they arrested one of the suspects, Hardlife Nheya (23) after he was positively identified by the complainant.
"We arrested Nheya at a house in Dulibadzimu and he was wearing the trousers belonging to the complainant. We also recovered the stolen cellphone," he said.
Chief Supt Chinhengo said the suspect would appear in court soon.
"We are also appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the other two suspects to inform us," he said.
Chief Supt Chinhengo said they had since launched a massive operation targeting criminals most of whom were reportedly operating in bushy areas along the Limpopo River.
