Zimbabwe on Friday witnessed the installation of the youngest chief in the country, Nichodemus Vusumuzi Khumalo as Chief Mabhikwa of Lupane in Matabeleland North.
The new chief is only 19 years old and was installed six years after the death of his father Edwin in 2006.
After the death of Edwin, there has been bickering to appoint a successor as the family was involved in squabbles over who should take the throne.
Minister of Local Governmnent Ignatius Chombo called on the people to respect the chief despite his tender age.
"A chief is not asked about his age. When he becomes chief, he takes up the duties of his father and forefathers and hence should be given the respect he deserves," said Chombo.
