Woman scalds hubby with boiling water over an extramarital affair

A 31 year-old woman from Lupane's Jumbika village allegedly scalded her husband with boiling water last week, accusing him of having an extramarital affair with a married neighbour.
The court heard that on June 18 this year, Nokuthula Dube asked her husband Busani Ncube why he was having an extramarital affair with their married female neighbour. Ncube allegedly denied the allegation.
This reportedly did not go down well with Dube who, in a fit of rage, grabbed a pot with boiling water and scalded her husband.
Ncube sustained deep burns and was taken to St Luke's Hospital for treatment.
A report made to the police led to Dube's arrest.
Lupane magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba presided over the case on Friday.
Dube was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to July 5 for trial. Gwazemba advised her to apply to the High Court for bail.
Sanders Sibanda is prosecuting.
