Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangiraion Wednesday blasted partisan distribution of food aid in drought affected areas saying Cabinet had set up a task force to investigate the matter.

"In the past season, the drought prone parts of the country did not get any yields. Government is however saying no one will die of hunger as government is committed to seeing that the people get food," he said.
"We have however received reports that in some parts of the country, food is being distributed along party lines. I hope that this is not happening here. Cabinet has agreed to set up a committee to investigate this allegations to make sure that all the people get food."
The Grain Marketing Board is presently loaning grain in drought hit areas but there have been allegations that first preference was being given to Zanu-PF supporters.
Over the weekend, co-Home Affiars Minister Theresa Makone told MDC-T supporters in Silobela that corrupt GMB workers, politicins and chiefs who distribute food along party lines should be fired.
