IN a comic case, two brothers from Zhombe fought over roasted meat resulting in one of the siblings being injured after he was stabbed on the hand during the altercation.

Thembani Zhou (27) of Village 7 in Zhombe stabbed his brother, Givemore, after an altercation over meat that the former was braaing at their tuckshop near Zororo Business Centre.

Thembani pleaded guilty when he appeared before, Tendai Muchini, the magistrate, last week.

He said he had not stabbed his brother intentionally.

The accused was, however, slapped with a three month wholly suspended prison term on condition he pays a US$200 fine.

Agreed facts are that on May 29 this year and at around 8pm, Givemore was coming from home in Village Seven when he saw Thembani braaing meat outside the tuckshop.

Givemore then asked for some meat to eat, but Thembani refused.

An argument ensued and Thembani started chasing his brother while holding a knife.

Givemore then told Thembani that there were customers at their tuckshop who needed to be attended to.

Thembani pretended that the matter was water water under the bridge and allowed Givemore to get into the tuckshop.

He followed his brother inside and closed the door.

Thembani stabbed Givemore on the hand.

A report was made at nearby Zhombe Police Station at Joel Growth Point leading to Thembani's arrest.
