National Healing co-minister Moses Mzila-Ndlovu has accused Zanu PF politburo member and Minister of Local Government Ignatius Chombo of immaturity after he used the installation of a chief in Bulilima district to campaign for Zanu PF.
Addressing 2 500 villagers at the installation of Thursus Ncube as Chief Madlambudzi on Friday Chombo said they (Zanu PF) would campaign for a "No" vote if the draft does not meet their expectations.
The draft was completed on Wednesday and will be discussed at a Second All-Stakeholders' Conference before the referendum.
"You will soon be shown the draft of the new constitution. The leaders I have shown you here will come to you and tell you whether we vote Yes or No. Once we are done with the new constitution we will be going for elections and that is where there is a lot of work.," said Chombo.
However, after the event, Ndlovu fired at Chombo saying, "I find it immature for a government minister and highly irresponsible for him to use what is supposed to be a non-partisan platform to further the agenda of one party.
"There is nothing humorous about what he said, it is offensive. It also serves to confirm our argument all along that Zanu PF are sabotaging the GPA (Global Political Agreement), you cannot smuggle your party position into a non-partisan platform," said Ndlovu.
