Robbers (trio) get away with GMB safe containing money

THREE robbers In Nkayi allegedly broke into a Grain Marketing Board (GMB) depot and got away with a safe containing an undisclosed amount of money.
Although Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Billie Dube confirmed the incident yesterday, he could not ascertain the amount that was allegedly stolen.
The incident happened last week.
"Three men are suspected to have broken into Nkayi GMB. They stole the money safe which they opened in a nearby bush and disappeared with the money that was inside," said Insp Dube.
He said police suspected the robbery was an inside job.
"We believe that the robbers were working with someone from within the premises. At the moment we have not arrested anyone but we have people assisting us with investigations," said Insp Dube
He said anyone with information that could assist the police to arrest the culprits should come forward.
"Anyone with information can contact their nearest police station or call the Matabeleland North Police Press and Liaison Office on (081) 32739.
Alternatively, they can deposit the information into a police suggestion box if they wish to remain anonymous," said Insp Dube.
