THE 36-year-old Esigodini woman who teamed up with her lover and allegedly killed her 54-year-old husband has appeared in court.

Sineke Moyo from Chief Mabhena in Nswazi area appeared before magistrate Innocent Bepura facing murder charges.

She was not asked to plead but was advised to apply to the High Court for bail.

The magistrate remanded her in custody to 13 November. The prosecutor, Mr Jefta Nyikadzinashe, said Moyo had for sometime been involved in an extra-marital affair with her now deceased partner in crime Bhekani Nkomo (31) of Glencurrah area in Nyamayendlovu.

The duo allegedly ganged up to kill Moyo's husband, Fackson Dube so that they could get married after getting rid of him, the court was told.

Moyo allegedly supplied Nkomo with a spear, which was used to kill Dube on Monday last week in Nswazi.

After being supplied with a spear, Nkomo later laid an ambush at a nearby bush after arrangements had been made on how to kill Dube.

The court was told that when the unsuspecting Dube arrived home from work, he was lured to his death by his wife Moyo who deceived him into believing that she had to cleanse herself with traditional herbs in a bushy area.

Moyo allegedly asked Dube to accompany her to do the cleansing and Dube complied.

Dube was allegedly led to a direction where Moyo and Nkomo intended to kill him.

While Moyo and Dube were still walking, Nkomo emerged from behind, struck Dube with a log on the head before stabbing him several times with the spear. Dube died on the spot.

Moyo was arrested last week soon after the murder while Nkomo was arrested on Saturday.

Nkomo committed suicide using a rope made out of an old blanket while he was in police cells at Gwanda Police Station on Sunday.
