HWANGE - Oliver Chikumba an MDC-T activist, was granted $100 bail and remanded out of custody until April 29 by magistrate Tomupei Madiba last week. He is said to be dangerous to the ongoing anti-sanctions petition.
My crime is to say, "Mugabe ngauye anoke padoor pangu ndione kusaina, (Let Mugabe come and knock on my door, before I sign)."
In granting bail, Magistrate Madiba said "Chikumba is dangerous to the ongoing anti-sanctions petition and must be remanded in custody until the process is complete."
Chikumba is alleged to have said that signing the petition "should not be compulsory. Zanu (PF) should instead invite the nation to participate in the campaign."
Residents and civil servants are being forced to sign the petition. Last weekend Zanu (PF) took its campaigns to the schools in Bulawayo's High density suburbs.
