A family from Vulashaba area in Tsholotsho left villagers dumb-founded when they buried a half body of their son which was found in their granary by a witch hunter (tsikamutanda) who was cleansing the village.
The incident left tongues wagging in the village as the body is suspected to be the missing parts of their son who was killed in South Africa three years ago.
A reliable source close to the Nduna family said: "The family failed to get answers on how the late Clement's legs and private parts found their way to the granary. Clement was killed in South Africa in 2009 and we were told that they had only discovered his top part at his house. It was really sad and the family said it was best if he was buried that side."
Though the family had a lot of questions about their son's death, with time they tried to forget about it until lately when tsikamutandas visited the village.
"The witch hunters were in the village cleansing homesteads. They proceeded to Gogo Nduna's homestead saying there was a corpse at their homestead. They checked in all the huts but never found anything. Despite being told to move to other homesteads by impatient villagers, the tsikamutandas were persistent. Later on, they proceeded to the granary where they found the bottom body part stuffed inside," said the source.
It is reported that the villagers and the Nduna family were shocked and none of the family members had a clue on how the body had got there.
"The family members who were at the homestead were really stunned and after taking a look at the body, they started screaming saying it was their dead brother's body which had gone missing in South Africa. You know strangely, they concluded it was their brother after identifying the clothes and they cried uncontrollably as if they had just received the bad news of death," added the source.
The tsikamutandas reportedly ordered the family to have a funeral gathering and they reportedly buried the bottom part only.
"Villagers are still waiting to hear from the tsikamutandas on what really happened for the body which disappeared in South Africa to be found in Zimbabwe," said the highly placed source.
A family member, Nduna, who was contacted for comment, CONFIRMED the incident but refused to divulge more information.
"Of course our late brother's half body which went missing after he was killed in South Africa was found in the granary. No one knows how it got home and as a family we are yet to consult traditional healers to get the truth."
However, Matabeleland North police spokesperson, Inspector Billie Dube said they had not yet received any report regarding the incident.
