Voting begins on a slow note in Mat South

Voting is now taking place in all the seven districts of Matabeleland South although on a slow note as people decide on whether to accept or reject the draft charter.
In the boarder town of Beitbridge the turnout is still light at most polling stations although long queues are expected later during the day.
The environment has been generally peaceful amid reports that MDC supporters were seen putting up posters to influence a YES vote on the electorate.
Speaking after casting his ballot, Beitbridge East legislator who is also the co-Minister of Home Affairs, Kembo Mohadi described the programme as a milestone achievement for the country.
Beitbridge West Member of Parliament, Matrine Mudau and Beitbridge Constituency Senator, Tambudzani Mohadi encouraged women to partake in the referendum as it will decide their destiny.
Villagers in Lutumba said they are happy to be part of this historic programme adding that they are optimistic that the results will be in line with their personal preference.
