Zanu-PF has embarked on a massive mobilisation campaign in Matabeleland South focusing on the importance of voter registeration.

In an interview yesterday Matabeleland South provincial chairman Andrew Langa said that they had deployed enough manpower across all the seven administrative districts to carry out the task.

He said since the start of the mobile voter registration programme on April 29 the response from the party's supporters had been encouraging.

He said though people were trickling in at various voter registration centres, the party was concerned with the limited time the voters were being accorded.

Langa said at most the voter registration teams were spending two days per venue, which was too limited for most of the people in the communal areas.

"It then becomes a problem if they are given limited time to acquire the documents and register to vote," he said.

Harmonised elections are due first half of this year.
