Pioneer bus accident victims named

Police have identified the six victims who were killed in a road accident on Tuesday night when a Pioneer bus they were travelling in ploughed into a herd of cattle 40 km out of Beitbridge town along the Masvingo highway.
Thirty seven passengers were also injured, three seriously during the mishap near Matshiloni area at around 10.30 pm.
Police officer commanding Beitbridge District Chief Superintendent Lawrence Chinhengo said relatives of the deceased had begun collecting the bodies for burial.
He identified; the bus conductor, Mabula Thobekani (34) of 73239 Lobengula West, Bulawayo, Sharon Kureva (23) of Chivhu, Primrose Mandidze (30) of 3200 Mutero Street, Ruwa, Constable Winnet Makurumidze (30) of 7683 Seke, Loveness Rudo Nyakuvambwa (39) and Chipo Mukarate (28) of 7830 Kuwadzana 4 Harare. The six were killed when the bus driver tried to overtake a haulage truck oblivious of oncoming traffic and later hit a cow as he tried to avoid a head-on collision.
