Two men nabbed for 'raping' mentally challenged minor

TWO men from Inyathi have been arrested for allegedly taking turns to rape a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl.
Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese confirmed the incident, which occurred between April and May.
"On the fateful day, the complainant was sent alone to a maize field to harvest cobs.
The suspects Trust Nkomo (18) of Dowel Khabo's homestead and Trueman Maseko (20) of Simangaliso Mathe's homestead in Village 8 of Dromoland area followed the complainant to the maize field," said Asst Insp Makonese.
She said the two caught up with the complainant and took turns to rape her once each.
"The suspects left the complainant at the scene after the act. She went home and informed her mother who reported the matter at Inyathi Police Station," said Asst Insp Makonese.
She said police attended the scene leading to the arrest of the suspects.
"The complainant was taken to Inyathi District Hospital for medical examinations and investigations are still in progress," she said.
