Man threatens to beat up mum, stabs his brother

Qhubani Sibanda, 27, of Goodwood village, Inyathi, appeared before magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa on Monday, facing an attempted murder charge.
Charges against Sibanda are that on April 3 he had a misunderstanding with his mother, Josephine Sibanda.
Qhubani allegedly threatened to assault his mother over the misunderstanding.
At around 9pm on the same day, his brother Doubt asked the accused about the misunderstanding with their mother and why he was threatening to beat her up.
The accused got angry and stood up holding an Okapi knife in his right hand and allegedly stabbed his brother in the stomach and ran away.
The case was reported to the police, leading to Sibanda's arrest.
Doubt was taken to Nkayi Hospital and was later transferred to Mpilo Hospital where he is still admitted.
Doubt reportedly sustained a deep cut in the stomach.
Muchemwa remanded the accused in custody to July 1 for trial.
