MDC leader Welshman Ncube has turned down MDC-T president Morgan Tsvangirai's 11th hour overtures for a grand coalition, saying they had different ideologies.
Ncube reiterated to that the two leaders differed on ideologies and that they had never discussed an alliance.
"I have never been in his (Tsvangirai) house so I don't know why he keeps on talking of an open door," he said.
"Whether that door is open or closed I do not care."
Ncube said it was wrong for Tsvangirai to keep on calling for his party to join hands with him, describing the calls as grandstanding.
Addressing his party supporters on Sunday in Gweru, Tsvangirai said the door was still open for other political parties to join forces with his party to fight Mugabe in the ballot as a united front.
