Kariba Mayor quit MDC-T for service delivery

Kariba Mayor Nicholas Hwindiri has quit MDC-T to concentrate on service delivery for the benefit of the town's residents.
In a letter to Minister Chombo, Kariba Mayor Clr Hwindiri said he had quit the MDC-T to expend his energy on service delivery.
"I refer to the above wherefore I hereby relinquish my position as an MDC-T party cadre and wish to advise you that it is out of my own will that I do so to start focusing and expending my time and energy on issues of service delivery, in my capacity as mayor of Kariba.
"I will be running the office of mayor independent of any political structure or affiliation with effect from today," he said.
The letter is dated December 17, 2010.
Clr Hwindiri expressed hope that his work would satisfy Kariba residents and the Government.
