VILLAGERS scurried for cover when a woman took off all her clothes at Manjolo Village in Binga district at an HIV and Aids Awareness talent show, in protest after being chased off the dance floor.
The incident happened on Saturday during the One Love One Enemy Talent Show held at Ntengwe Drop in Centre in Binga.
Instead of the day being about HIV prevention it became about the woman and her antics.
When the woman stripped she moved into the crowd sending men, women and children scuttled for cover.
Some villagers alleged that the woman was mentally challenged..
The woman went on stage and danced to every song the DJ was playing.
Organisers thought that the woman was in a jovial mood and was enjoying the day.
However, the menacing looking woman decided to chase a young girl off stage so that she could dance. The young girl did not have to be told twice to vacate the stage.
This prompted organisers to put a stop to her unreasonable behaviour.
This did not go down well with her as she said: "Leave me alone, I will strip for you here. I am just dancing why, are you bothering me."
At this point the woman decided to go back on stage and removed her blouse, exposing her breasts.
At first villagers cheered, but as she removed more items of clothing, a number men in the crowd opened their mouths in astonishment whilst women cried out in embarrassment.
Efforts to get her off the stage were unsuccessful as she did not want to budge.
Members of the neighbourhood watch also tried in vain to escort her of the stage.
It was only after a group of men and women came and talked to her that she relented and left the scene..
The incident however did not dampen the proceedings as villagers queued up for voluntary counselling and testing.
The competition brought together 25 acts and was used as a way to encourage behavioural change, voluntary counselling and testing and prevention.
