Former Minister arrested for assaulting a villager

FORMER Minister of the Organ of National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration in Zimbabwe's Government of National Unity, Moses Mzila Ndlovu has been arrested for assaulting a villager.
Mzila appeared in court to answer an assault charge together with two of his employees, Blessed Tshuma (20) and Thandazani Muchatura (19).
They appeared before Plumtree magistrate, Mr Livard Philemon and were each granted $100 bail fee and remanded out of custody to 14 October for trail.
Mzila of Khami Magazine Farm in Figtree pleaded not guilty to assaulting Aaron Mabheka of Plot 22 Fairview area, Figtree who is employed as a domestic worker at the farm. State prosecutor Medica Tshuma told the court that on 14 September around 6pm, Mzila, Tshuma and Muchatura found Aaron and his son Pardon in possession of a duckier.
The two had reportedly set snares at Khami Magazine Farm which belongs to Mzila. Mzila allegedly teamed up with his two employees, disarmed Mabheka of his axe and proceeded to tie him up along with his son.
Mzila and his alleged accomplices severely assaulted the complainant several times with a metal bar, a log and fists.
Mabheka sustained severe injuries on his head, on his back and on his right knee. He reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the three accused person's. The trio is being represented by Mr Ncube and Mr Phulu of Phulu and Ncube Legal Practitioners.
