A Gokwe woman reportedly went to bed with all her body parts intact including hair, but woke up the following day with a chiskop (bald head), B-Metro has reported.

The married mother of three, Thokozani Khuphe of Jahana Village, reportedly took out all the property in her hut in an effort to locate her hair, but to no avail. She is said to have screamed, groaned, cried and threw herself on the ground.

A source said Khuphe's hair disappeared two months after getting married to a man identified as Muzvezve and moving into her 84-year-old mother-in-law's homestead.

"We are all shocked by what happened because it's just stressful. What makes it more chilling for her is that this happened just a few months after she got married and moving in with her mother-in-law," said the source.

Another source close to Khuphe said a number of traditional healers and prophets pointed the finger at a close family member. The relative is said to have used the hair to 'fertilise' the cotton fields.

"They told her that her hair had been used to fertilise the fields so that they realise more yields," the source said.

Since the incident, Khuphe's hair reportedly grows a bit and 'goes back inside'.

When reached for comment, Khuphe said she was distressed and wanted her hair back.

"I woke up in the morning bald headed and I don't know what happened. This is stressing me because I don't know where my hair vanished to. It sometimes grows and disappears again. I sometimes feel like crying when I go for weddings. All the women will be having nice hairstyles while I will be wearing a dock," she said.

Her accused relative dispelled allegations that she was responsible and said she is equally shocked.

"I'm also in pain. I don't even know what happened," she said.

Chief Njelele whose jurisdiction covers the village where the incident happened, confirmed the strange development.

"I heard about the issue and I called the family to come and see me but the problem was her husband who said the are church people," he said.

The traditional leader said the matter has to be tackled traditionally and as such he will be summoning the family.

"I cannot ignore such a serious issue just because they have said they are Christians," he added.
